College Soccer News Honors Budler on 2022 All-Freshmen Team

2022 COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS MEN'S SOCCER ALL-FRESHMEN TEAM
AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron men's soccer redshirt freshman GK Mitch Budler (Lincoln, Neb.) capped a stellar rookie campaign for the Zips being honored by College Soccer News as a member of its 2022 All-Freshmen team.
Budler was selected to the All-Freshmen Second Team after starting all 20 contests for the Zips en route to posting seven shutouts on the strength of 51 saves and a 1.15 goals against average. He ranked third in the MAC in goals against average (1.15), save percentage (.689) and shutouts (.350) and fifth in saves per game (2.55). In league-only affairs, he led the conference in goals against average (.500) and shutouts (.500), while rating third in saves percentage (.800) and sixth in saves per outing (2.00).
Additionally, Budler was honored by the United Soccer Coaches as a Third-Team All-North Regional selection.
