Akron Basketball Selected for a Pair of National TV Games

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Akron men's basketball program has been selected for two nationally televised broadcasts with eight 21-day wildcard selection dates open as the Mid-American Conference announced its national basketball television schedule for the 2022-23 season today.
Akron's scheduled contest at Ball State on Friday, Jan. 6 has been tabbed for an 8:30 p.m. tipoff on CBS Sports Network. The Zips' second selection will be at home, as Akron hosts Eastern Michigan at James A. Rhodes Arena on Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
The remaining dates will be announced 21 days prior to the contests which may affect four game dates, including a pair of home games against Kent State (2/4/23) and Buffalo (2/18/23) as well as two road games at Ohio (2/11/23) and at Kent State 3/3/23).
The extensive package features coverage of MAC basketball contests that will be televised nationally on the following linear platforms -- ESPN2, ESPNU & CBS Sports Network.
The MAC Men's & Women's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals will be available on ESPN+, the leading direct-to-consumer sports streaming service. The Women's Tournament Semifinals will also be available on ESPN+.
For the seventh consecutive year, the MAC Men's Basketball Semifinals as well as the MAC Women's Basketball Tournament Championship Game will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network. The Women's Basketball Final will air live on Saturday, March 11 at 11 am ET, while the Men's Basketball Championship game will air live later that evening on ESPN2 (Time TBA).
In addition, all 12 MAC institutions will be participating in the league's school content production program with ESPN. Each institution will provide a minimum of 35 athletic events as part of the agreement. Those games will appear exclusively on ESPN3 or ESPN+.
Games airing on an ESPN network will also be available on the ESPN App to authenticated pay TV subscribers.
