Akron, Ohio – The Akron volleyball team fell 3-0 to the visiting Chippewas from Central Michigan on Friday night at James A. Rhodes Arena.

CMU claimed the match by scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-22 as the Zips' offense was paced by senior Teagan Ochaya with 11 kills. Junior Faith Johnson followed with 10 kills, while sophomores Matalasi Danielson and Genevieve Hara added six kills each.

Freshmen Avery Brown and Baylee Vought  recorded 31 of 36 assists with 18 and 13 assists, respectively. Junior Lauren Latka and Ochaya anchored the Zips' defensive efforts with a team-high 10 digs apiece.

Akron is scheduled to be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 29 against Eastern Michigan. The match is slated for a 5 p.m. start and fans can follow the action on ESPN3 or via live stats on GoZips.com.
