Eight Zips Garner Academic All-MAC Volleyball Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The University of Akron volleyball team earned eight selections to the 2021 Volleyball Academic All-MAC Team, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.

In all, 91 student-athletes from 12 conference institutions were honored including Rachel Abramson (Waddell, Ariz.), Alexis Adleta (West Chester, Ohio), Jen Durra (Painesville, Ohio), Faith Johnson (Naperville, Ill.), Lauren Latka (Zionsville, Ind.), Teagan Ochaya (Mentor, Ohio), Taylor Sharrits (Concord, Ohio), and Emily Weigand (Burton, Ohio).

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that sport.
