BUFFALO, N.Y. – On the final day of competition at the UB Diving Invite hosted by Buffalo, sophomore Paige Kalik (Irwin, Pa.) claimed fifth place in the platform diving event.

Kalik used five dives with a 11.5 degree of difficulty in the preliminary round to enter the final round sixth overall with 195.15 points. Kalik improved in the finals, scoring 212.30 points and climbed one spot on the leaderboard. She finished fifth overall.

Kalik was the lone Zip to compete on Sunday as Buffalo's Journi Northorp won the platform diving event with a 235.90 final score. Her 11.6 degree of difficulty dive ranked highest among the six-diver field. She posted a 231.70 score in prelims.

The Akron swimming and diving continues will be back in the water at Ocasek Natatorium as the Zips host the Akron Last Chance Meet on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 26-28, Competition is slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday.
