AKRON, Ohio -Â University of Akron men's soccer freshmen Dyson Clapier (Layton, Utah), Malik Henry (Hamilton, Ontario), Jonas Buechte (Rantigen, Germany) and Wan Kuzri Wan Kamal (Carbondale, Ill.) were among those honored when TopDrawerSoccer.com unveiled its 2021 Men's National Freshmen Top-100 Postseason list.

The Zips' quartet of Clapier, Henry, Buechte and Wan Kamal were rated Nos. 43, 50, 70 and 89, respectively.

Clapier started 17 of the Zips' 18 games en route to earning Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference accolades for the first time ranking third on the team in shots (31) and shots on goal (12), while adding four goals and three assists on the campaign.

Garnering All-MAC accolades for the first time, Henry, started 16 of Akron's 18 contests this season. He helped anchor a Zips' defensive unit that posted six shutouts on the campaign, while adding a team-high seven assists on the strength of six shots, including three on goal. He ranked second in the MAC in assists per game (.412).

Buechte started all 18 games for Akron en route to anchoring a Zips' defensive unit that recorded six shutouts on the season. Additionally, he added a pair of assists sparked by 12 shots, including two on frame.

Wan Kuzri Wan Kamal appeared in all 18 games for the Zips this past season, including 12 starts, en route to registering a pair of goals and four assists on the strength of 19 shots, with nine falling on goal.
