The Dukes own an 8-1 record all-time over the Zips, winning six consecutive games since 2010. The Zips met Duquesne during the 2019-20 season as the Dukes posted an 88-63 win over Akron at the Jar.
LAST TIME OUT
The Zips dropped to 2-1 after falling to Youngstown State on the road, 57-55 on Monday, Nov. 15.
Redshirt senior Jordyn Dawson (Huntington, W Va.) led the Zips with a double-double scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, while freshman Reagan Bass (Strongsville, Ohio) rounded out the double-figure scoring with 10 points and grabbed nine boards. Sophomore Annika Corcoran (Painesville, Ohio) contributed nine points.
The score remained knotted for three minutes before YSU knocked down a trio of three-pointers that put the Penguins in control 55-49 with 1:45 left to play. The remainder of the game was a back-and-forth affair marked by clutch free-throw shooting by the Zips. With 2.8 seconds remaining and down two, Ferrell was sent to the line to shoot a pair but couldn't convert and YSU escaped with a 57-55 victory.
Akron shot 32.3 percent (20-of-62) from the floor and 19.2 percent (5-of-26) from beyond the arc, while YSU shot 32.2 percent from the floor and connected on 9-of-28 from three-point range. The Zips struggled from the charity stripe connecting on just 10-of-18 (55.6 percent).

SCOUTING DUQUESNE
The Dukes, stand 1-4 under the direction of 9th-year head coach Dan Burt after falling to in-state opponent Pitt, 69-64 on Saturday, Nov. 20. The Dukes had four players score in double figures with Fatou Pouye leading the way with 17 points. Megan McConnell added 14, while both Libby Bazelak and Tes Myers finished with 11 points.
Duquesne is averaging 60.2 points per game on 35.9 percent shooting (100-of-281) from the floor and 31.2 percent (39-of-125) from long range. The Dukes have three players averaging in double-figures led by Pouye (14.0), Myers (12.6) and McConnell (10.0).Â
McConndell leads in rebounding averaging 6.4 boards per game.
Defensively, the Dukes have held their opponents to 67.6 points per game on 39.1 percent shooting from the floor and only 39 percent (32-of-108) from beyond the arc.
