AKRON, Ohio — The University of Akron women's swimming and diving team has officially released its 2020-21 schedule, as the Zips eye an eighth consecutive Mid-American Conference title, head coach Brian Peresie announced on Monday.
Â
"It's great to be back and have a plan for the season," Peresie said. "Many thanks to President Miller, Larry Williams and the Mid-American Conference for supporting our sport and 2020-21 season plan. This year has been unique in many ways and we are fortunate to be surrounded by great people with a great vision for institution and conference."
Â
The Akron roster consists of 22 returners and six newcomers, including the 2019-20 MAC Most Outstanding Swimmer Sarah Watson (Winnipeg, Manitoba), the 2019-20 MAC Freshman Swimmer of the Year Weronika Gorecka (Wroclaw, Poland) and three All-Americans on the diving boards in senior Andrea Bugariu (Shelby Township, Mich.), junior Kamryn Goodrick (Chesterland, Ohio) and sophomore Paige Kalik (Irwin, Pa.).

Each day brings new challenges and adversities that everyone in the country is experiencing. The teams that are able to stay focused and on the path towards their goals will be the teams that ultimately do the best."
Â
The season will open with the Zips Only Classic annual intra-squad meet on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7, followed by the season opening meet at Eastern Michigan on Nov. 20 at 3:30 p.m.
