2019 AKRON MEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE

AKRON, Ohio - Former University of Akron men's soccer standouts have found success this season as more than 25 former Zips are currently playing professional soccer both in the United States and abroad.

MLS

Saad Abdul-Salaam – Seattle Sounders FC (@Saad_Abdul)
• Joined the Seattle Sounders FC in February
• Is on loan with the Tacoma Defiance of the United Soccer League Championship
• Has appeared in three matches for Tacoma, including registering an assist in a 2-1 victory over Sacramento FC on April 2

Teal Bunbury – New England Revolution (@TealBunB)
• Has appeared in seven matches for New England, including six starts
• Has recorded 11 shots on the campaign
• Posted a season-high four shots, while adding an assist on Brandon Bye's game-winning goal in the 62nd minute a 2-1 victory over Minnesota (March 30)

Evan Bush – Montreal Impact (@ebushel1)
• Has started each of the seven matches he has appeared in for Montreal this season
• Owns clean sheets over New York City FC (0-0 - April 6), DC United (0-0 - April 9) and Columbus Crew SC (1-0 - April 13)
• Named to the MLS Team of the Week on April 15 after posting a 1-0 shutout on the strength of a season-high five saves over Columbus on April 13

Scott Caldwell – New England Revolution (@scaldwell15)
• Has appeared in seven matches for New England, including six starts
• Owns a pair of assists on the campaign

Perry Kitchen – LA Galaxy (@perrykitchen23)
• An ankle injury has sidelined him for the LA Galaxy this season

Richie Laryea – Toronto FC (@RichieLaryea_)
• Signed with Toronto FC in March

• Recorded an assist in a 2-2 draw versus Orlando (March 2)
• Contributed reserve minutes for the USMNT in a 1-0 victory over Ecuador (March 21) and in a 1-1 draw with Chile (March 26)
• Earned assist on Sebastian Lletget's 80th minute game-winning goal in a 2-0 USMNT decision over Costa Rica (Feb. 2)
• Tallied first career point with the USMNT recording an assist on Christian Ramirez' goal in the 88th minute in a 3-0 win past Panama (Jan. 27)

Darren Mattocks – FC Cincinnati (@darrenmattocks)
• Has appeared in six matches for FC Cincinnati, including three starts
• Owns a goal and an assist on the strength of eight shots, including four on goal
• Named to the MLS Team of the Week on April 8 after scoring Cincinnati's first-ever penalty kick as an MLS team in the 19th minute, while adding a team- and season-high four shots, including three on frame, in a 1-1 draw versus Sporting KC (April 7)

Joao Moutinho – Orlando City SC (@jmoutinho1998)
• Has started each of the four matches he has appeared in for Orlando City SC
• Has recorded a pair of assists, while contributing three shots, including one on goal
• Earned assist on Sacha Kljestan's game-winning tally in the 73rd minute in a 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls (March 23)
• Tallied assist on Nani's goal in the 31st minute in a 4-3 triumph past Colorado (April 6)

• Posted a season-best two shots in a 3-2 victory past Everton (March 9)
• Latest assist came in a 2-2 draw versus AFC Bournemouth (March 16)
• Served as team captain and played all 90 minutes for the USMNT team in a 1-1 draw versus Chile (March 26)
• Entered the match in the 68th minute in a 1-0 triumph by the USMNT over Ecuador (March 21)

Anthony Ampaipitakwong – Bangkok United – Thai Premier League
• Has appeared in a pair of matches this season for Bangkok United
• Earned the start and played 66 minutes in a 4-0 win past Suphanburi FC (April 6)
• Played 14 minutes off the bench in a 1-1 draw versus Sukhothai FC (Feb. 24)

Marcel Zajac – Forge FC Hamilton – Canadian Premier League (@MarcelZajac11)
