Akron’s 2020 Baseball Schedule Announced

AKRON, Ohio — The 2020 University of Akron baseball schedule was announced on Thursday.
Under first-year head coach Chris Sabo, the Zips open the 2020 slate on Feb. 14 with a four-game series with Oakland. The Zips travel to Pepperdine for three games on Feb. 21-23. Road play continues as UA travels to Lamar (Feb. 28-March 1) and Marshall (March 6-8).
Akron plays its home opener on March 11 against Urbana (Ohio).
All home games will be played at Skeeles Field at the Lee R. Jackson Athletics Complex.
UA travels to Nashville to face Lipscomb in three games on March 13-15.
The Zips host Urbana (Ohio) in a single game on March 17.
Akron returns to Mid-American Conference play at home against Miami on March 20-22.
"This schedule gives our student-athlete a chance to travel the country and face a high level of competition that will prepare us for MAC play," Sabo said.
Midweek action includes a single game at home with Malone on March 24 and at Penn State on March 25.
Toledo visits Akron on March 27-29 for MAC play. UA hosts Canisius on March 31 and visits Kent State on April 1.
MACtion continues at Ball State on April 3-5 and at home against Central Michigan on April 10-12.
UA visits West Virginia on April 14 and hosts Malone on April 15.
The Zips travel to Eastern Michigan on April 17-19, to Canisius on April 22, and to Ohio on April 24-26.
Akron hosts Kent State on April 28 and Youngstown State on April 29.
The Zips open May with Western Michigan at home on May 1-3. UA closes MAC play at Bowling Green on May 8-10.
The Zips visit Michigan State on May 12 and Albany for three games on May 15-16.
The 2020 MAC Championship will be played on May 20-24 at Sprenger Stadium in Avon, Ohio.
