AKRON, Ohio – The Akron women's golf team finished second overall, 947 (+83), as the Zips hosted the Mid-American Conference Fall Preview at Silver Lake Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

All five scores for the Zips landed in the Top 25 as sophomore Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) led the squad with a seventh-place effort. She posted a 232 (+16) tournament total on rounds of 79 (+7), 74 (+2) and 79 (+7).

Freshmen Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio) and Riley Dean (Lewis Center, Ohio) followed in scoring with a pair of 20^th place finishes. David tallied rounds of 81-78-81 – 240 (+24) while Dean recorded 85-78-77 – 240 (+24) scores. In addition, senior Allyson Wentworth (Stewartsville, N.J.) posted three consecutive 80 (+8) rounds for a 240 (+24) tally, earning 20^th place as an individual.

Sophomore Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio) and freshman Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio) used one more stroke than the 20^th place finishers, both landing at 24^th overall. Pikunas carded 80-78-83 – 241 (+25) and Hahn contributed a 79-79-83 – 241 (+25) performance.

Junior Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio) also competed as individual and finished 39^th overall with an 84-85-81 – 250 (+34) ledger.

Eastern Michigan overcame a three-stroke deficit to claim the team title, besting Akron on the final day by eight strokes (320-312). The Eagles fired rounds of 316-314-312 - 942 (+78) as EMU's Natai Green Apichonlati earned runner-up for his efforts, 81-72-75 - 228 (+12).

Sitanun Jonglikit (Kent State) claimed medalist honors with a 75-73-74 - 222 (+6) mark.

The MAC Fall Preview concluded the Zips fall season. Akron will be back in action on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 2-3, at the MAC Match Play Challenge at the Royal Lakes Course in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
