Women’s Tennis to Host Akron Shootout This Weekend

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team concludes its fall schedule with the annual Akron Shootout on October 25-27.
Action begins on Friday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. Participating this fall are Binghamton, Cleveland State, Youngstown State, and host Akron. The complete schedule is listed below. All matches will be played at Cleveland State's Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
Under the guidance of interim head coach Brian Peters, Akron returns six letterwinners– senior Rita Pedroso (Porto, Portugal); juniors Anna Uljanov (Schweinfurt, Germany), Miruna Vasilescu (Ulm, Germany); and sophomores Enya Forgaci (Boca Raton, Fla.), Holland Long (Rochester, N.Y.), and Claudia Cecilia Rosas Garcia (Gaudalajara, Mexico).
Newcomers include junior transfer Jemi Aguilar (Weston, Fla.), and freshmen Tanja Derowski (Bruckmuehl, Germany) and Aliona Kruglov (Karmiel, Israel).
The Zips' captains are Rita Pedroso and Anna Uljanov.
