Zips’ Thursday Home Events Remain on As Scheduled

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's swimming and diving and men's and women's track and field home competitions slated for Thursday, Jan. 31, will go on as scheduled despite the University of Akron being closed on Thursday due to cold temperatures.

The Akron women's swimming and diving squad will host Bowling Green in a dual meet beginning at 4 p.m. at the Ocasek Natatorium, while the Zips' track and field team opens the 15th Annual Akron Invitational at the Stile Athletics Field House with the men's and women's discus competition taking place at 6 p.m.

Fans attending the Akron Invitational are asked to enter the meet through the main entrance of the Stile Athletics Field House off of Union Street as the Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be closed.

Both events on Thursday offer free admission.
