Bowling, Green, Ohio – The Akron Zips women's golf team posted a 318 (+30) opening round score, ranking tied for ninth overall at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Saturday.

Akron is currently tied with host Bowling Green at the par-72 Stone Ridge course that spans 5, 829 yards, while Toledo leads the 16-team field with a 304 (+16) total. Toledo's Pinyada Kuvanun currently leads the individual race with an even-par 72 ledger, while Ball State's Sydney Anderson holds the runner-up spot with a 74 (+2) tally.

Akron junior Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) is currently tied for 11^th overall with a 76 (+4) performance and is just one stroke behind an eight-way stalemate for the third position. Nicholson led the Zips' scoring efforts, carding 12 pars and a birdie with five bogeys.

Senior Pader Her (Holt, Mich.) and sophomore Allyson Wentworth (Stewartsville, N.J.) followed for Akron with 80 (+8) scores. Both, Her and Wentworth are tied for the 37^th position, while freshman Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio) ranks 52^nd overall with an 82 (+10) tournament total.

Rounding out Akron's team scoring was freshman Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio) with an 85 (+13) showing for a 68^th overall placement. In addition, senior Mallory Etcheberry (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and junior Makayla Dull (Fremont, Ohio) competed as individuals, carding scores of 81 (+9) and 83 (+11), respectively. Etcheberry and Dull are currently ranked 45^th and 58^th overall.

The Zips are scheduled to play the final 18-hole round of the 36-hole tournament on Sunday at 11 a.m. and starting from holes No. 9-11. Fans can follow the action via GolfStat Live Scoring.
