Bowling, Green, Ohio – The Akron Zips women's golf team finished ninth overall in the team scoring at the at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, carding a 312 (+24) on Saturday en route to a 630 (+54) team ledger.

Indianapolis claimed the team title at the par-72 Stone Ridge course that spans 5, 829 yards with a 600 (+24) team tally, while Ohio's Emily Hughes earned medalist honors with an even-par 144 tournament total.

Akron junior Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) tied for 10th overall, climbing one spot on the leaderboard with a final round 76 (+4) total. It was Nicholson's second 76 (+4) score of the tournament, bringing her 36-hole total to 152 (+8).

Senior Pader Her (Holt, Mich.) followed with 80 (+8) and 78 (+6) scores for a 158 (+14) total. She tied for 29th place, while sophomore Allyson Wentworth (Stewartsville, N.J.) placed 40th overall with a pair of 80 (+8) rounds for a 160 (+16) tally.

Rounding out the scoring for Akron were freshmen Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio) and Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio). Pikunas landed at 49th with an 82-80 – 162 (+18) and Pearce placed 54th with an 85-78 – 163 (+19) total.

In addition, senior Mallory Etcheberry (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and junior Makayla Dull (Fremont, Ohio) competed as individuals. Etcheberry finished 32nd overall, posting rounds of 81 (+9) and 78 (+6) for a 159 (+15) score. Dull recorded rounds of 83 (+11) and 81 (+9) for a 61st place showing and 164 (+20) total.

The Mid-American Conference women's golf championships are next for the Zips. Akron will compete for the MAC title in a three-day, 54-hole format, starting on Friday, April 20, and concluding on Sunday, April 22, at Naperville Country Club in Naperville, Ill.
