Bryan Places Seventh at Commonwealth Games

BRYAN RESULTS | BARBER RESULTS
CARRARA, Queensland, Australia – University of Akron track and field junior pole vaulter Lucy Bryan (Bristol, England) garnered a seventh-place finish in the women's pole at the Commonwealth Games on Friday, April 13.
Representing England, Bryan earned a seventh-place showing in the event eclipsing 14-1.25 (4.30m). She cleared bars of 13-1.50 (4.00m), 13-7.25 (4.15m) and 14-1.25 (4.30m) on her opening attempts at each height. Bryan then made three attempts at 14-5.25 (4.40m), but was unable to best the bar.
On Thursday, April 12, former Zips' All-American and 2015 IAAF World Champion Shawn Barber won the silver medal finishing second in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 18-6.50 (5.65m).
Bryan and the Zips return to action traveling to Torrance, Calif., to compete at the Mt. Sac Relays, April 19-21.
