Three Former Zips Named Among Top 50 MLS Prospects for 2018

AKRON, Ohio – A trio of former University of Akron Men's Soccer standouts in Richie Laryea (@RichieLaryea_), Jonathan Lewis (@Jon_lewis710) and Joao Moutinho (@jmoutinho1998) were among those named by TopDrawerSoccer.com to its Top 50 MLS Prospects list for 2018.
Representing Orlando City SC, Los Angeles FC and New York City FC, respectively, were Laryea (No. 48), Moutinho (No. 13) and Lewis (No. 11).
The No. 7 overall selection in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, Laryea enters his third professional campaign in 2018 with Orlando City SC. In a 1-1 season-opening draw with DC United on Saturday, March 3, Laryea contributed 24 minutes of reserve duty and recorded one shot.
Selected No. 3 overall by New York City FC in 2017, Lewis begins his second professional season in 2018.
The No. 1 overall selection in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by Los Angeles FC, Moutinho garnered the starting assignment playing all 90 minutes in his squad's first-ever MLS match at Seattle, a 1-0 victory, on Sunday, March 4.
