2018 MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT BRACKET (PDF)
AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's soccer match versus Western Michigan at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field on Saturday, Nov. 3, was ruled a no contest after an on-campus power outage prevented the match from being played.
The game will not be made up and the Mid-American Conference Tournament which begins quarterfinal round action on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at campus sites, determined tournament seeding based on results of league play on Saturday.
Akron will be the No. 4 tournament seed and host fifth-seeded SIU Edwardsville in a 4 p.m. tilt at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Extensive efforts were made to get the lights operational on the Zips' home field in order to play what would have been a key conference match in the determination of tournament seeding. Ultimately, this did not prove feasible and for the safety of the student-athletes the decision not to play was made.
Season-ticket holders can receive a complimentary ticket for Tuesday's match versus SIU Edwardsville by calling or text the ticket office at 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) on Monday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. or Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. - noon. Additional tickets may also be purchased during this time.
If a season-ticket holder does not claim a complimentary ticket for Tuesday's match during this time frame on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 5-6, they will not receive a complimentary ticket for Tuesday's match. Instead they will get a 10 percent ticket value credit towards their 2019 season ticket purchase based on the price paid for their 2018 season tickets.
The winner of the Akron-SIU Edwardsville match advances to the semifinal round of the MAC Tournament on Friday, Nov. 9, to battle top-seeded West Virginia at 5:30 p.m. in Morgantown, W.Va.
