Akron Announces Men’s Soccer Scheduling Change

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's soccer team has announced a scheduling change as its contest at Notre Dame on Oct. 23 has been canceled.
The cancellation came in part due to the Fighting Irish having their scheduled contest at Virginia on Sept. 14 postponed due to the impending landfall of Hurricane Florence along the Atlantic Coast. The Atlantic Coast Conference has rescheduled the tilt between Notre Dame and the Cavaliers for Oct. 23 in Charlottesville, Va., which necessitated the cancellation of the game between Akron and the Fighting Irish.
The Zips are exploring options to potentially replace the contest with another opponent, but at this point in the campaign that may not prove a possibility.
Akron returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 13, as the Zips host West Virginia at 7 p.m. in a Mid-American Conference tilt at FirstEnergy Stadium - Cub Cadet Field.
