Varsity A Seeks Nominations for 2016 Hall of Fame Class

AKRON, Ohio– The University of Akron's Varsity "A" Hall of Fame committee is seeking nominations for its 2016 Sports Hall of Fame class.
Beginning this year, the Hall of Fame inductions will be held during Homecoming weekend (Oct. 7-9). The 2016 Class will participate in the Homecoming parade, be inducted at a brunch ceremony, and be honored at halftime of the football game against Miami (Ohio).
To be eligible for UA's Sports Hall of Fame, nominees must meet the following criteria:
v Former Zips' student-athlete
v Must have earned a bachelor's degree
v Must be 10 years removed from eligibility expiration
Currently, the UA Varsity "A" Hall of Fame has inducted 316 athletes, coaches, and administrators. In addition, there are 38 Kenneth "Red" Cochrane Meritorious Service Award recipients and 27 Mike Krino Varsity "A" Achievement awardees. [HOF website]
