2016 ACADEMIC ALL-MAC WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The University of Akron women's track and field squad garnered 11 selections when the Mid-American Conference unveiled its 2016 Women's Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC team on Wednesday, June 1.
In all, a total of 143 student-athletes were named to the women's team including; seniors Megan Dornisch (St. Mary's, Pa.), Claudia Garcia Jou (Barcelona, Spain) and Caroline Hasse (Potsdam, Germany), redshirt junior Ana Martin-Sacristan (Valencia, Spain), juniors Daniella Johnson (Gahanna, Ohio) and Becky Szabo (North Olmsted, Ohio), redshirt sophomores Michalla Gordon (Wadsworth, Ohio), Sarah Kupniewski (Erie, Pa.) and Tara Snipes (Covington, Ohio), sophomore Jackie Siefring (Covington, Ohio) and redshirt freshman Elizabeth Mosier (Austintown, Ohio).
To qualify for the Academic All-MAC Teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport and be of at least sophomore academic standing at their respective institutions.
