Nine Zips Named to MAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic Squad

2016 ACADEMIC ALL-MAC MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD RELEASE

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The University of Akron men's track and field squad garnered nine selections when the Mid-American Conference unveiled its 2016 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC team on Wednesday, June 1.

In all, a total of 53 student-athletes were named to the men's team including; seniors Alex McCune (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Casey Slane (Marion, Ohio) and Sean Weems (Maple Heights, Ohio), redshirt juniors Quentin Cieslinski (Madison, Ohio), Trevor Norris (Avon Lake, Ohio) and Sean Poholski (Barberton, Ohio), juniors Keith Yohman (Brunswick, Ohio) and Dan Zupan (Berea, Ohio) and redshirt sophomore Taron Slone (Columbus, Ohio).

To qualify for the Academic All-MAC Teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport and be of at least sophomore academic standing at their respective institutions.
