Akron Swimming and Diving Set for Final Two Meets of the Regular Season

AKRON, Ohio – Following a close loss in its previous meet, the Akron swimming and diving team looks to bounce back with two meets in as many days this weekend in head-to-head road duals against Xavier and Miami (Ohio).
The Zips travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, on Friday Jan. 29, and are set for a battle with Xavier at 5 p.m. Akron will then head to Oxford, Ohio, where the RedHawks await to square off with the Zips on Saturday Jan. 30, at 1 p.m.
A year ago, Akron and Xavier went head-to-head in a dual with the Zips coming out with the win, 184-88. On the night, Akron won 15 of the 16 events while sweeping the top three spots in the first six of seven events.
Akron and Miami (Ohio) did not compete against one another in the regular season but were opponents at the Mid-American Conference Championships. The Zips prevailed as the MAC champions following the three-day event with 650 points while the RedHawks finished in the fifth place with 443 points.
The upcoming road duals are the final meets of the regular season for the Zips' as they will have their sights set on the MAC Championships following this weekend.
