Akron Swimming and Diving Returns to Action at Youngstown State

AKRON, Ohio – After a month away from competition and a training trip in Florida, the Akron swimming and diving team returns to the pool for a head-to-head meet with Youngstown State on Saturday, January 16, at the Beeghly Natatorium.

In last years meeting with the Penguins, Akron out swam Youngstown State, 197-102. The team took first place in 11-of-16 events and two of the top three spots in 15-of-16 events while completing four 1-2-3 sweeps.

Akron last competed against nine different squads in the annual Zippy Invitational and took the Invite title posting a score of 2,317 over the three-day event. The Zips broke multiple records in individual and relay events.

The Zips have set the tone for the second half of the season and look to build on their strong performances in their first five meets going 5-0 in both head-to-head match-ups and dual meets.
