Men's Golf to Conclude Regular Season this Weekend at Irish Creek Intercollegiate

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron men's golf team will conclude the 2014-15 regular season this weekend when the squad travels to Kannapolis, N.C., for the 2015 Irish Creek Intercollegiate on the par-71, 7,099-yard Club at Irish Creek.
The event will serve as the final tune-up for the Zips prior to next month's Mid-American Conference Championship event (May 1-3).
The Zips will face a 14-team field that features eight Golfstat Top-100 teams, including No. 17 South Florida No. 24 North Florida, No. 26 Kennesaw State, No. 52 Charlotte, No. 64 Georgia State, No. 66 East Carolina, No. 67 McNeese State and No. 75 UNC Greensboro. Akron will also compete against Appalachian State, Davidson, Richmond, Tulsa and UNC Wilmington.
Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET on Saturday with a shotgun start to the first round. The second round will immediately follow the conclusion of the first round. Sunday's final round is also set for a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Fans can follow all of the action live via Golfstat Live Scoring.
Akron is coming off a tie for 12th place on April 7 at the Gary Koch Invitational.
Playing in a field that included eight Golfstat Top-100 teams, including top-ranked Florida State, the Zips finished tied with Charleston Southern with a score of 898 (+34).
Ryan Harris posted his second top-25 finish of the spring, finishing tied for 23rd place with a 54-hole score of 218 (+2). His best round was his 1-under 71 on Tuesday, his fifth round of par or better in the last 11 rounds played.
