CARSON, Calif. - The United States men's national team bolstered by the efforts of a pair of former Akron men's soccer players in DeAndre Yedlin and Perry Kitchen capped a month of season-opening training with a 2-0 friendly victory over Panama on Sunday, Feb. 8, at the StubHub Center.
The triumph ended a five-game winless streak for the United States dating back to a 1-0 victory over the Czech Republic in September.
Yedlin garnered the start for the United States against Panama playing 72 minutes, while Kitchen was inserted into the game in the 72nd minute for Mix Diskerud.
Wil Trapp and Dillon Serna dressed for the contest, but didn't see any action in reserve duty.
The United States returns to action on March 25 as the Americans battle Denmark in a friendly in Arhus, Denmark.
