Swimming and Diving Announces 2014-15 Schedule

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron swimming and diving team and second-year head coach Brian Peresie have announced their schedule for the 2014-15 season, which includes three home meets at Ocasek Natatorium.
After capturing the program's Mid-American Conference Championship crown in the 2013-14, the Zips open up competitive action this year at the Tom Stubbs Relays in Bowling Green, Ohio on Oct. 3.
Following the Alumni Meet on Oct. 4, UA hosts its first home meet on Oct. 24 as conference foe Buffalo travels to Akron.
The Zips take to the road to finish off October and the entirety of November, facing Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti on Oct. 31, Ball State in Muncie, Ind. on Nov. 1, and competing in the Magnus Cup Invitational in Cleveland from Nov. 21-23.
The squad returns home for the Zippy Invitational from Dec. 5-7 before traveling again in January to Youngstown State (Jan. 16), St. Francis (Jan. 17), and Bowling Green (Jan. 23). Both Xavier and Mount Union come to Akron on Jan. 31 for a joint meet.
Competition heats up in February as the Zips travel to Columbus, Ohio for the OSU Winter Invite on Feb. 13-14 hosted by Ohio State. The MAC Championships take place this season in Ypsilanti from Feb. 25-28.
Akron plays host to the LESI Championships from March 6-8, while any Zips qualified to participate in the NCAA Diving Zones will travel to Columbus from March 13-15. NCAA Championships will take place in Greensboro, N.C. from March 20-22.
