Fenlason Named MAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

AKRON, Ohio — Akron junior goalkeeper Jake Fenlason (San Diego, Calif.) was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week on Monday.
At No. 19 Michigan State, Fenlason played all 90 minutes and recorded two saves. In the MAC opener at Bowling Green, Fenlason helped the defending champion Zips to a 1-0 shutout victory on the road. He had six saves on the day, three in the first half, and two in the final minutes of play to preserve the win.
A starter in goal for all 10 matches, Fenlason has three shutouts, 45 saves, and a 0.86 goals-against average. He leads the MAC in save percentage (.850) and saves per game (4.64).
Akron (6-4-1, 1-0 MAC) returns home to host Michigan at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
