Brady Stewart Receives MAC East Player of the Week Award

AKRON, Ohio – Junior Brady Stewart was tabbed as the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week on Monday following this past week's games against No. 17 Pittsburgh and Western Michigan.
Stewart went 8-for-12 (.667) over the past week's games, and collected three hits in back-to-back games, one against Pitt and the other versus WMU.
The native of Ashville, Ohio drove in a total of five runs, while also scoring one. Amongst his eight hits, Stewart recorded one double. He registered one walk and struck out only once in four games played.
This season, Stewart has appeared in 41 games at catcher. He has totaled a .258 batting average with five doubles, 13 RBI, 10 walks and 14 runs scored.
Stewart is the first recipient from Akron baseball to receive a player of the week honor in the 2013 season.
