Men's Golf Faces 15-Team Field at UCF Rio Pinar Invitational

AKRON, Ohio – After 13 days off, the Akron men's golf team returns to the course on Monday when it travels to Orlando, Fla., for the UCF Rio Pinar Invitational at the par-72, 7,001-yard Rio Pinar Country Club.
Play begins Monday at 8:15 a.m. ET with a shotgun start to the first round, followed immediately by the second round. Play will conclude on Tuesday with the final round set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
This year's 15-team field, headlined by host and No. 18-ranked UCF, includes No. 66 Campbell, Cleveland State, Florida Atlantic, No. 92 Florida Gulf Coast, George Mason, Houston Baptist, Loyola (Md.), Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Seton Hall, Stetson, Western Illinois and No. 37 Wichita State.
The Zips finished in 13th place at last year's edition of the Rio Pinar Invitational, carding a score of 30-over 894. Then-freshman Charlie Bull led the way, carding a round of 3-over 75 on the day to finish tied for 28th place with a tally of 4-over 220.
Akron is coming off an 11th-place finish at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate on March 6 in Aiken, S.C. Tim Lew was UA's top finisher, carding a three-round score of 10-over 220 to finish tied for 28th place.
