Fraizer (Wert) Earns Second-Team All-America Honors

2012 USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-America List
NEW ORLEANS – University of Akron senior weight thrower Valerie Fraizer (Wert) has earned indoor Second-Team All-America honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Fraizer represented the Zips at last weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho, and posted a 15th-place distance of 61-06.75 in the weight throw. Second-team honors are awarded to those who earned final classifications between ninth and 16th place.
Named the Most Outstanding Field Performer at last month's Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships, Fraizer is also a First-Team All-MAC honoree after winning the weight throw at the league meet with a distance of 68-01.50.
In 2011, she was an honorable mention All-American in the discus.
The Zips track and field team opens the outdoor portion of its season on March 23-24 at the LSU Relays in Baton Rouge, La.
