Track to Host Inaugural Akron Invitational Community Relays
January 17 | Track & Field
AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron track and field program announced Tuesday that it will host the inaugural Akron Invitational Community Relays on Feb. 9 at Stile Athletics Field House.
The event, which will feature the 4x100, sprint and marathon medley relays, presents a unique opportunity for members of the UA student body and faculty, local corporations and Akron Marathon Relay teams to compete against one another in the home indoor facility of the Zips.
The top two relays from each division (men, women and co-ed) will qualify to run in a final on Feb. 11 during the Invitational Gold section of the prestigious Akron Invitational, which will feature some of the top collegiate and professional athletes from across the country.
Entry fees are $10 for UA relays and $20 for corporate relays. All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Feb. 5. All those entered will be invited to use the field house on Feb. 7 from 9-10 p.m. for a free relay handoff clinic.
