Cross County Back In Action at Navy Saturday

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Annapolis, Md., to compete at Navy Saturday morning.
The men's team will compete in the Navy Invitational, starting at 11 a.m., while the women will run in the Salty Dog Invitational, starting at 11:30 a.m.
The Zips' men will contend with a 12-team field, which consists of several top teams from around the nation – two of which are currently ranked in the nation's top-30 poll.
Louisville enters Saturday's meet ranked No. 19 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches Poll, released on Sept. 13. Eastern Kentucky is slotted No. 28 in the national poll. UA will also compete against three teams that are ranked in the top 15 in the USTFCCCA's Mid-Atlantic region poll, including Patriot League-foe American (No. 6), Maryland (No. 11) and LaSalle (No. 13.).
The UA women will be one of 10 teams competing at the Salty Dog Invitational. Joining the Zips will be teams from American, George Washington, LaSalle, Louisville, Loyola, Malone, Maryland, UMBC and Valparaiso.
This weekend's race includes several teams ranked in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) top-15 regional polls, including Navy, which is slotted No. 7 in the Mid-Atlantic region, LaSalle (No. 6), American (No. 12), Maryland (No. 13), and Loyola (No. 14) are also ranked. Louisville is ranked No. 13 in the Southeast region.
