Men's Golf Returns to Action at UK Bluegrass Invitational

AKRON, Ohio -
The University of Akron men's golf team, off since March 15, returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Lexington, Ky., for the 2011 UK Bluegrass Invitational on April 9-10 at the par-71, 6,967-yard University Club of Kentucky - Big Blue Course.
The Zips will tee off on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. ET with a shotgun start and will play two rounds before closing out the event on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. ET.
Akron will face two top-100 teams in the Golfstat rankings, including tournament-host and No. 99 Kentucky and No. 6 Auburn, Mid-American Conference foes Bowling Green, Ohio and Toledo, in addition to Cincinnati, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Lipscomb, Loyola-Chicago, Marshall, Michigan State, Morehead State, Utah Valley, Valparaiso, Western Carolina and Western Kentucky.
Last time out, the Zips finished in 13th place at the Rio Pinar Invitational on March 15. UA closed the event with a three-round tally of 30-over 894.
Freshman Charlie Bull led the way, finishing tied for 28th place with a tally of 4-over 220. Senior Lucas Murray closed out the event with a score of 7-over 223 over three rounds.
The event will be the next-to-last for the Zips before heading to the MAC Championships on April 29 in Mason, Ohio.
