Men's Golf Finishes 13th at Rio Pinar Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. -
The University of Akron men's golf team finished in 13th place at the Rio Pinar Invitational on the par-72, 7,001-yard Rio Pinar Country Club on Tuesday.
The Zips closed the event with a three-round tally of 30-over 894 after carding a 14-over 302 on the final day of the event. Host Central Florida earned top team honors with a three-round score of 23-under 841.
Freshman Charlie Bull led the way, carding a round of 3-over 75 on the day to finish tied for 28th place with a tally of 4-over 220. Senior Lucas Murray closed out the day in a tie for 40th place after shooting a round of 4-over 76. Murray posted a score of 7-over 223 over three rounds.
Redshirt sophomore Tim Lew finished the day tied for 44th place (224, +8) after posting a final-round 76 (+4). Junior Scott Landreth closed the day with a round of 3-over 75 to finish the tournament with a three-round score of 227 (+11) and tied for 60th place.
Sophomore Cameron Simmons closed out the scoring five tied for 81st place (233, +17) after shooting a round of 76 (+4) on Tuesday.
Junior Ryan Mason, playing as an individual, tied Lew for the lowest round of the tournament for the Zips, posting a 1-under 71. He finished the event tied for 22nd place with a score of 2-over 218. His three-round score of 218 ties his career-low for a tournament (Xavier Invitational, Oct. 13-14, 2008).
The Zips return to action on April 9 when they travel to the UK Bluegrass Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
