Divers Complete Action at NCAA Zone Diving Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Akron swimming and diving program completed action at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in Columbus on Friday with freshman Carla McNamara taking 18th place in the day's only event - the 1-meter springboard.

McNamara dove a 259.05 in the prelims to qualify for the finals of the event and would go on to finish 18th in her first NCAA Zone meet. McNamara finished 17th in Thursday's 3-meter springboard event.

Leeanna Hoover and Amanda Angeloff finished 21st and 22nd for the Zips on Friday. Jayne Malloy rounded out the Akron competitors with a 29th place finish.
