Baseball Tabbed Fifth in the MAC East

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron baseball team was selected to finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference East, the conference office released Tuesday. Kent State and Central Michigan were picked to win their respective decisions by the conference coaches.
Following the Golden Flashes in the East division were Miami, Bowling Green, and Ohio. Buffalo was selected to finish behind the Zips in sixth. Kent State was also selected as the conference tournament winner.
Akron begins the 2011 season with a trip to Starkville, Miss. next weekend. The Zips will play a pair of games each against both Mississippi State and Lamar over the weekend.
