McVeigh Earns InsidePitching.com Great Lakes Performance of the Week

AKRON, Ohio - Freshman right-hander Myles McVeigh has earned the Great Lakes Performance of the Week from the website InsidePitching.com, it was announced Tuesday.
McVeigh was stellar in his collegiate debut Sunday against Lamar in Starkville, Miss., hurling 8.1 innings of one-hit ball. The Cheyenne, Wyo. native struck out six and walked none as he cruised through the Lamar lineup. At one point early in the game, McVeigh struck out five out of six batters, and he would sit down eight in a row to end his outing.
McVeigh joins pitchers from UCLA, Texas, UNC Wilmington, and Seton Hall on this week's list of honorees.
Akron returns to the diamond this weekend, traveling to San Marcos, Texas for a three-game set with Texas State. The first game of the series is slated for Friday at 7:30 p.m. EST.
