Cross Country Finishes 13th At Penn State National

University Park, Pa. - Both the men's and women's cross country teams finished 13th Saturday at the Penn State National held at the Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses.
The women scored 411 points in the 31 team field while the men scored 345 points in the 27 team field.
Senior Kim Lorentz led the women placing 22nd with a time of 21:20. Fellow senior Cassie Schenck and freshman Sarah Baker also finished in the top-100 amongst the 304 runners posting times of 22:14 and 22:42. Junior Ro Rupe and freshman Alexsandra Bowers rounded out the women's top five with times of 22:50 and 23:08.
On the men's side, junior Andy Morgan led the Zips among the 263 runners finishing 17th with a time of 25:46. Senior Joe McCoy, junior Brian Dudek and sophomore Dan Jackisch all finished in the 26th minute with times of 26:25, 26:46 and 26:56. Freshman Kyle Wheeler rounded out the men's top five with a time of 27:22.
Villanova took home the top honor for the women while Syracuse won the men's side.
Over the course of the next two weeks, UA will prepare for the 2010 Cross Country Championships hosted by Western Michigan Oct. 30 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
