Women?s Soccer Falls 3-0 At Ball State

- Amy Holst notched a hat trick and guided Ball State to a 3-0
victory over the University of Akron women's soccer team on Sunday
at BSU Soccer Field.
All three of Holst's goals came in the first half. She found the
net first in the eighth minute, and scored the second in the 16th
minute and the third in the 40th minute.
Ball State (10-3-3, 5-2-1 Mid-American Conference) held a heavy
advantage in the shots category, taking 21 compared to four by
Akron (10-5-0, 3-5-0 MAC). Twelve of the Cardinals shots were on
goal, while a pair of the Zips shots were on frame.
UA goalkeeper
Krystin Wilson (Hudson,
Ohio/Hudson HS), who did not play in Friday's game at Miami due to
an injury, logged 87-plus minutes Sunday and had a career-high nine
saves.
Katie Davis (Olney,
Md./Sherwood HS) played the balance of the match.
Two of the Zips three remaining regular-season games are at home.
UA plays host to Buffalo (Oct. 20) and Kent State (Oct. 22) next
weekend, with the KSU game serving as Senior Day. The team closes
the schedule at Ohio (Oct. 26).
