Akron Volleyball Falls To Bowling Green In Three Games

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron volleyball team (8-14 overall, 3-7 MAC) dropped its fourth-straight Mid-American Conference match, falling to Bowling Green State University (13-9, 6-4) in three games, 30-23, 30-28 and 30-25.

For the fifth-straight match, sophomore Molly Rutledge (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) led the Zips in kills, recording a match-high 14. She was the only Akron player to reach double-figures, while the Falcons had four people surpass ten kills.

Junior Kim Horn (North Canton, Ohio/Jackson) and senior Emily Kocinski (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua) led the team in digs, each totaling 17, which tied BGSU's Emily Manser for the match-high.

The Zips will return to action next weekend as they continue their brief four-match road-trip, with matches at Central Michigan on Friday, October 28 and at Eastern Michigan on Saturday, October 29. Both matches will begin at 7:00 p.m.
