J. Thomas Adolph

Tom Adolph accumulated nine varsity letters in three sports at the University of Akron– four in football; four in baseball, and one in basketball. He was team captain of baseball and football.
In 1959 and 1960, Adolph held the record for the one most single-game receptions (8 against Wittenberg). In 1962 and 1963 he was selected as the All-Ohio Conference at end. He finished his collegiate career with records for the most extra points kicked in a season (44) and most extra points attempted in a season (52).
In baseball Adolph was a pitcher and an infielder (played all infield positions in four years
Selected for the Harry “Doc” Smith Award as a junior, he was also selected Akron’s Athlete of the Year.
