Middle Hitter
Chris Garrison was a four-year letterwinner with the volleyball program from 1992-95.

As a freshman she was a member of the first Akron team to compete in the Mid-American Conference, seeing action in 23 of 34 matches with 31 kills, 15 block assists, and five solo blocks.
She became a starter in 1993 and developed into a real stopper at the net with 168 kills, 68 block assists, and 15 solo blocks.
She was accorded second-team All-MAC honors and UA’s MVP as a junior when she led the Zips in block average with 1.5 per game and was second in kill average with 3.1 per game. She also led the Zips and the MAC in the hitting average at .325.
Like so many athletes, Garrison saved her best performance for her senior campaign as she helped UA compile its second best all-time record in the MAC with 13 wins and only four losses and an overall record of 24-10. That year she was voted UA’s Most Outstanding Offensive Player as she compiled career highs of 315 kills, 159 solo blocks and 118 block assists to earn first-team All-MAC honors.
