Steven Berch was named the Manager of Athletics Operations and Events at The University of Akron in January 2020.

Berch directs the day-to-day operations of James A. Rhodes Arena regarding scheduling, maintenance, and programming of the facility. Additionally, he handles all aspects of Game Management for Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Women’s Lacrosse.

Berch also serves as the Visiting Team and Officials liaison for Home Football contests. Berch joined the Zips full-time after serving as an Intern with the Akron Facilities Department for 18 months. Previously, he interned with the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the University of Cincinnati Athletics Department.

The Mayfield Heights, Ohio, native earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Akron in 2019. Berch is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Administration.
