Carl Koko was named Assistant Director of Development in the Office of Athletics at the University of Akron in October 2026, where he supports athletics fundraising, donor engagement, and development initiatives. His work centers on building authentic relationships and connecting constituents with opportunities to support Akron student-athletes and Athletics.
Previously, Carl served as an NIL/Revenue Share Partnership Support Manager at Old Dominion University, helping build ODU's in-house NIL program and supporting sponsorship and revenue-generation efforts. Before that, he was Director of NIL Operations for the SWFL Flight Crew, the former FGCU NIL Collective, where he supported NIL partnerships, corporate sponsorships, athlete endorsements, and donor engagement.
A former FGCU men's basketball team manager and Vice President of the FGCU Men's Basketball Club, Carl holds a Master of Professional Studies in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University (2026) and a B.S. in Management with a concentration in Sports Management and a minor in Entrepreneurship from Florida Gulf Coast University (2023).
