Ian Disteldorf

Ian Disteldorf was named a graduate assistant on the Akron women’s swimming and diving staff prior to the 2019-20 season.
A graduate of Augustana College (Ill.), Disteldorf is a two-time all-conference honoree, voted team MVP his sophomore year, and won two team commitment to excellence awards.
Disteldorf was a four-year member of the swimming and diving team at Augustana College, and currently holds the individual school record in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. He also competed in the 200 and 400 medley, as well as the 200 free.
After graduating, Disteldorf stayed at his alma mater to become the assistant coach in the fall of 2017.
During his two years there, he helped coach a men's national qualifier in the 100 backstroke and coached the team to breaking four school records.
Additionally, he coached the women's team to break 18 school records and a conference winning 200 medley relay last year.
A native of Oak Forest, Illinois, Disteldorf graduated with a bachelor’s degree in both business administration (finance concentration), and economics, with a minor in accounting. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in exercise science/administration from Akron.
