Laura Rypka is in her second year serving as a volunteer assistant coach with the Akron Track and Field program assisting with the Zips' cross country and distance runners.
A graduate of Malone University where she competed on the track and field team, Rypka is working on her master’s degree in exercise science from the University of Akron.
Rybka helped guide 2019 NCAA Indoor Championship national qualifier and All-American, Mackenzie Andrews, who set school records in the mile (4:35.63), 3,000 meterrs (9:28.39), and anchored the conference champion distance medley relay, which also set the school record.
