Bio
As a Junior (2019): In her first year in the Akron lineup, Malik started all 46 contests for the Zips … throughout the season, saw playing time as the Zips second baseman (29 games) and shortstop (17 games) … on the year, slashed a .230/.365/.295 line hitting anywhere between the third and eight in the batting order … in total, registered 29 hits, scored 17 runs, drove in 12 RBI, hit five doubles, four home runs, and walked 11 times … on the team, ranked fifth in slugging percentage (.365), fifth in on-base percentage (.295), third in home runs (4), and third in walks (11) … recorded seven multi-hit performances including five games with at least two hits and two games with three hits … posted a season-high four-game hitting streak and an eight-game on-base streak … hit her first home run in an Akron uniform against Drexel … her fourth HR of the season against Niagara was the eventual game-winning run … in her Akron debut, went 3-for-4 with one double, two RBI, and scored two runs … recorded an OPS of 1.034 in the Zips first give games at the Blue Hose Invitational … when hitting leadoff, Malik turned in a .350 batting average (14-for-40) … in the field, notched a .911 fielding percentage and recorded a team-high 57 assists.
At Tallahassee Community College: Malik appeared in 91 contests, tallied a career line of .284/.345/.515 in 264 at-bats … Malik posted 75 hits in two seasons, including 11 doubles, 16 home runs, and 75 RBI … as a freshman, Malik garnered a career-best 13 home runs and 36 RBI while hitting .298 on the year with a .626 slugging percentage … her 13 home runs tied the TCC program record for most home runs in a single-season in Eagles history … Malik was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association in 2016-17 for academic achievement, earned 2017 FCSAA All-Academic team honors, 2017 Panhandle Conference All-Academic team honors, and is a two-time member of the TCC Presidents List and Deans List.
High School: A four-year varsity letterwinner at Lake Brantley High School was named the Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, earned second-team 9A All-Conference team honors, and 8A Second-Team All-State honors as a junior … in her career, Malik hit .324, scored 90 runs, 14 doubles, eight triples, seven home runs, and 42 RBI, while her team compiled a 61-46 record in her four years.
