as a Junior (2006-07): Played in all 33 games, including nine starts ... the 33 games played ties for most all-time in a season ... his 35 blocks (1.1 bpg) ranked second on the team ... those 35 rejections tied for seventh most in a season in program history (David Mason, 1979-80), and also tied for second best in a season by an Akron junior (David Mason, 1979-80) ... established a career-high four blocked shots at Niagara (Nov. 25) ... scored a career-high 17 points in 30 minutes at Youngstown State (Jan. 2) ... that was one of seven double-figure scoring performances ... grabbed double-digit rebounds twice, and in back-to-back games, snagging a career-best 11 at UIC (Dec. 16) and then pulling in 10 versus St. Francis (Pa.) (Dec. 19) ... also scored 10 points in the St. Francis contest to tally his first career double-double in a career-long 32 minutes ... had a career-best five assists at Bowling Green (Jan. 14) ... led UA in scoring and rebounding four times each ... shot 61.2 percent (85-of-139) from the field and 70.0 percent (42-of-60) from the free-throw line ... that field-goal percentage would have ranked as second best in the MAC, but was just shy of the 3.0 made-per-game minimum requirement.
Track and Field: Did not compete.
as a Sophomore (2005-06): Logged time in 31 games, getting the starting nod six times ... more than doubled his previous career best in points by scoring 13 (5-of-8 shooting) in a then career-high 31 minutes off the bench in an 80-73 overtime win at Temple (March 14) in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament ... that victory was the Zips first in postseason since joining Division I ... entered the Temple contest having averaged just six minutes, but picked up the playing time of Matt Futch who was sidelined with the flu ... also grabbed a then career-high-tying five rebounds in that game ... put up six points and snagged four boards in 19 minutes as a starter versus Western Michigan (Feb. 8) ... also had four rebounds in 15 minutes versus Denison (Dec. 7).
Track and Field: Did not compete.
as a Freshman (2004-05): Saw time in 23 games, earning one start ... lone starting nod came in the MAC opener at Northern Illinois (Dec. 4) ... scored two points, grabbed three rebounds and made one block in his first career start ... best performance of the year came in the team’s 65-55 victory at Marshall (Jan. 19) when he scored a then career-high six points and grabbed a then career-best five boards in 14 minutes of work ... scored five points versus Mount Union (Nov. 23) ... logged a season-high 20 minutes in UA’s 20-point win (69-49) at Ohio (Feb. 16) ... 14 of his 21 rebounds were off the defensive glass ... converted on 50 percent (11-of-22) of his field goals, and 53.8 percent (7-of-13) of his attempts from the free-throw line.
Track and Field: Established a season-best 6-8.75 mark in the high jump at the MAC Championships (May 14).
at Colonel-White High School: Averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds as a senior and was named team MVP ... averaged 11 ppg, 9 rpg and 3 bpg as a junior, leading the school to a 19-3 record and the Dayton City League crown ... also competed in track and golf ... won the Division I state high school high jump competition as a senior, with a distance of 6-10.00, after placing second in that event as a junior, with a measurement of 6-8.00 ... two-time All-Ohio selection in track ... three-time recipient of his high school’s academic award.
