as a Sophomore (2009): Thrust into a starting role in week three following the dismissal of three-year starting quarterback Chris Jacquemain ... started the next three games before enduring a season-ending injury against Ohio (Oct. 10) ... threw the first touchdown pass of his career against Indiana (Sept. 19), hooking up with Deryn Bowser on a 49-yard strike ... also rushed for a touchdown against the Hoosiers in a losing effort ... rushed for two touchdowns the following week in a 48-21 defeat at Central Michigan (Sept. 26).
Redshirt Freshman (2008): Played in the Cincinnati and Toledo games ... took just one snap in the Cincy game ... played half of the fourth quarter in the 47-30 win over Toledo ... did not attempt a pass and ran the ball twice for one yard.
Freshman (2007): Redshirted ... had shoulder surgery early in the fall season.
Prior to Akron: Named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette “Fabulous 22” team and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review “Terrific 25” team … Tabbed first team all-conference by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette … Ranked as the 57th-best prospect in Pennsylvania by Scout.com … As a senior, completed 110-of-190 passes for 1,565 yards and 20 touchdowns ... Completed 153-of-267 passes for 2,060 yards and 20 touchdowns during his junior campaign, adding seven scores rushing.
